Belbin Resilience Reports

Belbin's New Individual and Team Resilience Reports will be launched on the 10th of October 2026.

Resilience is a front of mind issue across the world with rapid technological, economic and social changes underway.

These reports help individuals and teams understand how their Belbin strengths can support resilience during periods of challenge, pressure and change.

Importantly, the reports do not offer a simplistic 'resilience score', instead, they offer practical guidance on how people can draw on their actual behavioural Team Role strengths, recognise potential vulnerabilities and develop strategies to remain effective when demands increase.

Why resilience?

Resilience is a growing priority for organisations, but discussions often focus either on individuals or on organisational culture.

Research suggests that resilience also exists at team level. In fact, team resilience is not simply the sum of the resilient individuals within a team. It emerges through trust, co-operation, familiarity, shared understanding and the ability to combine strengths effectively when challenges arise.

This makes resilience a natural fit for Belbin.

THE INDIVIDUAL RESILIENCE REPORT

The Individual Resilience report explores how a person's Team Role strengths may influence the way they respond to challenge and pressure.

The Individual report includes:

•       Strengths that can support resilience

•       Typical responses to pressure

•       Potential resilience challenges

•       Risks associated with overplaying strengths

•       Practical, tailored suggestions for strengthening resilience

•       Ways to work effectively with others when demands increase

The guidance you need to thrive under pressure.

Understanding your strengths in challenging times.

Turning strengths into resilience.

THE TEAM RESILIENCE REPORT

The Team Resilience report explores resilience as a collective capability, examining how different strengths across the team contribute to resilience and highlighting opportunities to strengthen the team's ability to adapt and respond effectively under pressure.

The Team report includes:

•       Team resilience strengths

•       Potential vulnerabilities and gaps

•       How different Team Role strengths contribute to resilience

Suggestions for strengthening team resilience.  Advice for managers on supporting individuals effectively and potential problems to look out for as demands increase.

Building team resilience through collective strengths.

Helping teams adapt and thrive in challenging times.

The resilience advantage for your team.

KEY MESSAGES:

•       Resilience is not a fixed trait.

•       The reports do not provide a resilience score.

•       Resilience looks different for different people.

•       Team resilience is more than a cumulation of individual resilience within the team.

•       Understanding strengths is the foundation of resilience.

Belbin provides a practical framework for helping individuals and teams develop resilience in ways that are meaningful and applicable to everyday work.

HOW THEY WORK IN THE BELBIN SYSTEM:

•       Individual Resilience report: 5 Credits

•       Team Resilience report: 10 Credits

No additional questionnaires are needed. Scores are taken from the SPI and Observer data that has already been captured in your account for individuals and teams.

The report references the standard reports which means that the Resilience reports can only be created if the individuals in your team already have completed a standard Individual Belbin report.
